Campaign Story

* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.

Goals for My Fundraiser:

Supporting my capstone project

*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

What is ‘Green Athletic Wellness Campaign’

A campaign designed to promote sustainable athletic practices and healthy living through community awareness programs, policy advocacy, and social media outreach.

Components:

Development of a digital campaign

Organization of community forums and panel discussions

Collaboration with local policymakers

Partnerships with schools and sports clubs.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)

  1. I am a ‘Relationship Builder’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
  2. I’m crazy about making eco-friendly sports gear and being a top-notch sports therapist. So, I’m working on this cool project that’s all about fresh sports ideas and healthy living. My big dream? To be a social worker who fights for fairness and helps make the world equal through changes in politics and education..

My plan of action: Competitions and Activities

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:

TSA – As the primary CTSO, TSA fosters skills in technology, innovation, and team collaboration — key elements that serve both the technical and advocacy components of the project.

FBLA – FBLA provides a platform to build leadership, communication, and business strategy skills. It will help the student learn to delegate and build consensus, which are critical for managing a campaign initiative.

Competitions

TSA – Senior Solar SprintThis introductory TSA competition aligns with the green aspect of the campaign by challenging students to design and build a solar-powered model vehicle, fostering sustainability and teamwork.

HOSA – Healthy Living

This introductory HOSA competition focuses on wellness by having competitors complete a Healthy Living course and establish SMART goals, directly supporting the wellness aspect of the project.

TSA – Software DevelopmentThis introductory TSA competition encourages students to design and develop a software project. It can be leveraged to create a digital platform or website for the campaign to promote green practices and athletic wellness.

FBLA – Business PlanThis advanced FBLA competition requires creating a comprehensive business plan, which is ideal for outlining the sustainability and growth strategies of the Green Athletic Wellness Campaign.

Community Service:

Green Athletic Wellness Community Workshop

Why it fits: This activity directly supports the passion project by combining the themes of sustainability, wellness, and community engagement within zip code 30058.

Implementation: The student will plan a series of planning sessions in Fall to organize the workshop, followed by execution in Spring. Activities include interactive seminars on sustainable athletic practices, health fairs, and local fitness events in coordination with community centers.

Skills Development: Event planning, leadership, public speaking, community outreach.
